Firefox 48.x is the last browser to support Snow Leopard and was released in August of 2016. It is the most recent major browser available for that operating system. Firefox support has ended for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 This article applies to Mac users only. Starting with Firefox version 49, Firefox requires Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or higher. Between the machines and the software it is a big investment and a whole lot of time setting things up and learning how to use it. I usually keep my macs as long as I can. My only problem now is the browsers. Firefox, Chrome and Safari don't seems to want to support 10.5.8. At least FF and Safari run but there are some sites I visit.
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard is an upgrade to the previous version of OS X Leopard. This update does not have stacks of new features, rather overall improvements and efficiency upgrades. This version of Apple's OS also has a reduced footprint.
Key features include:
Tor Browser For Mac 10.6.8
- Slimmer QuickTime Player: QuickTime X features a simplified GUI with a greater focus on codec support.
- Cocoa Based Finder: Finder has a new Cocoa Desktop Window and Contextual Menu.

If your Mac is operating at a slow pace, then for that reason alone it is worth the upgrade to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. As far as developers are concerned, the integration of Grand Central, OpenCL and a 64 bit kernel will allow you to take full advantage of the dual processing power of Intel Macs.
